New tenants announced for Evesham’s Shoppes at Renaissance Square shopping center

The center will see Virtua healthcare system, LaScala’s and La Vez restaurants, Gaetano’s Pizzeria and Steaks, a nail salon, a hair salon, a freestanding Dunkin Donuts site and a cellular provider.

Tenants are signing up to be a part of the transformation of Evesham’s former Tri-Towne Plaza as it becomes the Shoppes at Renaissance Square shopping center.

Township and site officials gathered inside the former hollowed out H&R Block office located at the center of the site on Feb. 15 to announce several new tenants.

Richard Birdoff, of New York-based RD Management and owner of the site, announced the site’s largest anchor tenant as the Virtua healthcare system, which has plans to take over a more than 30,000 square foot space. The site is set to include primary care, surgical care, physical therapy and pulmonologists.

Alfred Campanella, executive vice president of strategic business growth and analytics at Virtua, described Virtua’s deep roots in the township, with its headquarters in Marlton and Virtua’s Marlton hospital having been in town for nearly 50 years.

“We want to be of service here in the community. That’s what we do,” Campanella said. “We really appreciate of this opportunity to be in this great new complex. It’s so well designed and accessible.”

In addition to the Virtua site, Birdoff announced tenants such as LaScala’s Italian Restaurant, La Vez Mexican Restaurant, Gaetano’s Pizzeria and Steaks, a nail salon, a hair salon, a freestanding Dunkin Donuts site and a cellular provider Birdoff said he could not yet name.

“We’re in discussions with several other users that we hope will fill out this space, so when this place opens for business and people are here, there will be fully occupied buildings,” Birdoff said.

According to Birdoff, the Virtua space should be completed by the summer, with construction set to begin around that time on other commercial spaces.

Birdoff said work on some of the site’s five residential buildings should also begin late this year Together, the buildings will contain hundreds of luxury, residential apartments.

Mayor Randy Brown described the announcement of the new tenants at the site as another “great day” for Evesham Township.

“This is something that is going to provide multiple, multiple avenues for people to work and live in our community … it is going to be a first-class facility for people to live, work and play,” Brown said.

Brown also noted Birdoff and his team are about “90 percent” complete in getting all the necessary approvals from the state Department of Transportation for a small park set to run across the length of the center near Route 70.

“The park out front is just going to add to what spectacular job this is going to be,” Brown said.
