The school district made the announcement ahead of the pending snow expected Thursday morning.
Due to the impending snow, Voorhees Public Schools announced they will be closed Thursday, Feb. 9.
The National Weather Service in Mt. Holly has issued a winter storm warning for snow, which is in effect from 4 a.m. Thursday through 4 p.m. Thursday.
Snow accumulations are expected between four and seven inches, with heavy snow at times and visibility at one quarter mile or less at times.
According to the National Weather Service, rain will overspread the area between midnight and 3 a.m. Thursday and change to sleet and then snow from northwest to southeast by dawn Thursday. The snow should be heavy at times Thursday morning before quickly tapering off from west to east during midday or the afternoon.
