Mt. Laurel School District releases latest harassment, intimidation and bullying statistics
The Mt. Laurel Township School District had only one confirmed instance of harassment, intimidation or bullying between students from Sept. 1 to Dec. 31, according to Superintendent George Rafferty. Rafferty reported those results at the latest meeting of the Mt. Laurel Board of Education. State anti-bullying legislation requires districts to report harassment, intimidation and bullying statistics at meetings twice per year.
Mt. Laurel couple arrested in relation to 58 counts of misuse of the 911 system
Mt. Laurel Police have arrested a Mt. Laurel couple in relation to terroristic threats, false public alarms (involving bomb threats, hostage situations, or persons armed with a deadly weapon) and misuse of the 911 system. According to Mt. Laurel Police, during the course of several months police have responded to multiple 911 calls directed at a residence on the 700 block of Oswego Court.
Mt. Laurel Council reviews removing polling locations from Paws Farm Nature Center
Due to the limited parking at Paws Farm, the township might ask the county to move the locations to the nearby St. John Neumann Church. Officials discussed the issue at the most recent Mt. Laurel Council meeting, with acting township manager Meredith Tomczyk suggesting council try to move the polling locations for voting districts Nos. 5, 14, 19 and 24, which all vote at Paws Farm.
Mt. Laurel School District releases latest testing results for lead levels in schools’ water
Harrington Middle School and has tested negative for the presence of lead in its water that exceeds the EPA’s allowable limit. Testing has been ongoing at schools throughout the district since September due to new state guidelines requiring all districts in New Jersey to test for lead at all faucets and fountains in their schools within the next year.
