The National Weather Service reported on Friday a wintry mix could potentially affect the area Saturday afternoon into Saturday night. Precipitation could start as snow before changing over to sleet and freezing rain.

Accumulations are expected to be minimal. Snow accumulations are expected to amount to one inch or less. If freezing rain occurs, there could also be a couple hundredths of an inch of ice. As of 2 p.m. on Friday, the NWS had not issued any winter weather advisories.

The weather could affect travel during the day Saturday. Camden County officials say they are prepared to keep the county roads clear on Saturday and advise motorists to use caution while traveling.

“Anyone on the roadways during these times should be prepared to encounter slick road conditions,” Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo said. “Remember to leave at least six car lengths behind our DPW vehicles while they work. Also, while our crews are working in the community please park all vehicles off the roadways so we can effectively plow the area.”
