Burlington County Clerk announces Holiday Wedding event at Smithville Mansion

The clerk will return to the mansion to continue the tradition of holiday weddings on Friday, Dec. 16, between the hours of 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Burlington County County Clerk Tim Tyler has announced plans for a wedding event at the historic Smithville Mansion on Smithville Road in Eastampton. The clerk will return to the mansion to continue the tradition of Holiday weddings on Friday, Dec. 16, between the hours of 4 to 7 p.m..

“Our holiday wedding event has grown in popularity over the last seven years. We started receiving calls about our holiday event as early as October” Tyler said. “It is my pleasure once again to offer couples the unique opportunity to exchange vows at the Smithville Mansion, a gorgeous and historic venue.”

Tyler said this opportunity would not be possible without the continued support and encouragement of the Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the County Division of Parks, Friends of Smithville Mansion and Eastampton Township.

There are a limited number of appointments available, so interested couples should contact the Clerk’s Office as soon as possible to schedule their ceremony.

Couples interested in a wedding should contact the office at (609) 265–5142 to ensure an appointment is available. The couple will need to obtain a marriage license from the town in which either of the parties resides. The process of obtaining the license takes 72 hours, so it cannot be left until the last minute.

Kim-Marie White, Eastampton Township Clerk / Register will be attending the ceremonies at Smithville mansion and providing same day certified copies of marriage certificates so couples do not need to go to the municipal offices at a later date to obtain them. Certified copies are $20 for the first copy and $10 for each additional copy.

Couples who wish to obtain their marriage certificates that day should have a check payable to “Eastampton Township” or exact cash and a receipt will be provided.

A current driver’s license will be required along with a completed vital records request form which may be found on the Eastampton Township web page http://www.eastampton.com/ by clicking on “Registrar of Vital Statistics.”

County Clerk Tim Tyler regularly performs wedding ceremonies for Burlington County residents and persons posted to local military facilities. Tyler has performed over 2,000 ceremonies since taking office in 2009.
