Voting for the next president of the United States isn’t the only task for Voorhees residents this Election Day. Voters will also get to vote for one member of the House of Representatives, two members of the Board of Chosen Freeholders, one Township Committee member, two Eastern Regional Board of Education members and three Voorhees Township Board of Education members.
Two candidates are running for one three-year seat on Voorhees Township Committee. Incumbent Michael Friedman (R) is running for re-election against challenger Thomas A. Fanelli (D).
In the Eastern Regional Board of Education election, incumbent Hilary J. Garr is running for re-election against challenger Jude J. Brown.
In the Voorhees Board of Education election, six candidates are vying for three, three-year terms. Incumbents Richard Horner, John Schmus and Richard Wojdon are running for re-election. The other three candidates running for a seat include Dawn Wallace, Troy A. Brocco and Dana Galiano.
In addition to the local election, residents will cast their vote for president of the United States, the New Jersey District 1 member of the House of Representatives and two Camden County Board of Chosen Freeholder candidates. There are also two statewide referendum questions this year. The first is, “Do you approve amending the constitution to permit casino gambling in two additional counties in this state?” The second is, “Do you approve amending the constitution to dedicate all revenue from the state motor fuels tax and petroleum products gross receipts tax to the Transportation Trust Fund?”
