The Evergreens Hosted 5th Annual Pneumonia Open Resident Golf Tournament

The Evergreens was founded in 1919 in Bound Brook, NJ, by the Episcopal Diocese of New Jersey.

The Evergreens resident Dick Meehan, winner of the 5th Annual Pneumonia Open, stands with President and CEO Doug Halvorsen on the putting green at The Evergreens.

The Evergreens recently hosted their 5th Annual Pneumonia Open, a resident golf tournament at the community. Five residents participated in this 9-hole final cup tournament on the community’s Putting Green — the culmination of a season’s worth of mini tournaments in order to determine an overall winner.

Congratulations to resident Dick Meehan, the 2016 season winner and three-time consecutive Pneumonia Open champion. Meehan tied with fellow resident Ron Flynn for the lowest score after 9-holes of play, but pulled out a victory in a nail-biting 3-hole, tie-breaking match.

As this year’s champion, Meehan won a gift card to Golf Galaxy. His name will once again also be etched onto a commemorative trophy which will be displayed in a common area at The Evergreens.
