Cherry Hill West boys’ soccer will be at home this afternoon against Hammonton High School in the sectional semifinals, while Cherry Hill East girls’ volleyball plays in the state quarterfinals tomorrow.
Cherry Hill High School West football will open the 2016 postseason at home on Friday night.
Cherry Hill West is the №4 seed in the South Jersey Group IV playoffs. The Lions will host №5 seed Highland Regional High School in the quarterfinals on Friday at 7 p.m.
This is the second time Cherry Hill West and Highland will meet this season. The Lions defeated Highland, 28–8, back on Sept. 16 in their home opener.
Cherry Hill West won its first seven games of the 2016 season before losing to Camden Catholic High School, 30–7, last Friday. This is only the second season the Lions have ever qualified for the postseason in football.
Cherry Hill West boys’ soccer hosting Hammonton, trip to sectional finals on the line
The №4 seeded Cherry Hill West boys’ soccer team will have a chance to advance to the South Jersey Group III championship game today as they host Hammonton High School in the sectional semifinals.
Cherry Hill West has cruised through the sectional tournament so far. Last Thursday, the Lions defeated Seneca High School, 3–0. Ishmael Bokai, Jason Kahan and Dimitri Malliaros scored for the Lions in the win.
Cherry Hill West’s semifinal opponent, №8 seed Hammonton High School, upset top-seeded Ocean City High School last week in the sectional quarterfinals.
Today’s semifinal game will take place at Cherry Hill West beginning at 3 p.m.
Cherry Hill East girls’ volleyball to take on Livingston High School in state quarterfinals
The last remaining South Jersey team in the NJSIAA Group IV tournament, Cherry Hill East girls’ volleyball has a big match at home on Tuesday as they will host Livingston High School in the state quarterfinals.
The Cougars have yet to drop a set in the state tournament. Last week in the second round of the playoffs, the Cougars won a tough match against Clifton High School, winning two tight sets, 26–24 and 25–22.
Sarah Pintel led the Cougars with 12 kills in the match. Megan O’Rourke registered 20 assists for Cherry Hill East in the win.
Tuesday’s match against Livingston will take place at Cherry Hill East beginning at 4:30 p.m.
