Christopher Chew is set to receive the group’s “Public Service Award”at its Freedom Fundraiser Gala on Oct. 29.
The Southern Burlington County NAACP Branch will host its sixth annual “Freedom Fundraiser Gala” on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 7 to 11 p.m. at The Westin Mt. Laurel, 555 Fellowship Road.
Evesham’s Chief of Police Christopher Chew is among the award recipients at the event, as he is set to receive a Public Service Award along with Congresswoman Bonnie Watson-Coleman.

The money raised from the event will allow the SBC NAACP to continue to educate and inform communities. The theme of the event is “V.O.T.E. — Validating Our True Equality”
The keynote speaker of the event will be Assemblywoman Shavonda E. Sumter.
