Sheriff Stanfield Announces Women’s Self-Defense Workshop

The program will be held at the Burlington County Human Services Building.

Burlington County Sheriff Jean Stanfield has announced that her department will be hosting a Women’s Self-Defense Workshop on Wednesday, Nov. 2. The program will be held at the Burlington County Human Services Building located at 795 Woodlane Road in Westampton from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

“This program is just one of the many ways in which our department is assisting our residents in becoming proactive about their own safety,” said Sheriff Stanfield, “Participants will have the opportunity to learn the skills and mindset needed to become more aware of their surroundings, their actions, and the actions of others.”

“This free program is being offered to Burlington County women who are over the age of 18 along with teenagers between the ages of 14 to 17 that are accompanied by an adult female guardian,” explained Stanfield. “We remind participants that comfortable clothing and flat soled shoes are required for this program.”

“Our goal is to bring the critically important skills of self-defense to women in a safe, comfortable, and welcoming setting.” Stanfield concluded.
