Stephanie B. McDermott (nee Bonafide) passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 26 at her residence in Moorestown surrounded by her family after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife to Sean J. McDermott and loving mother of Jack T. McDermott. She was also the daughter of Nancy Bonafide and the late James Bonafide, sister of Emily Bonafide and daughter-in-law of Margaret Vernacchio (the late Tony Vernacchio) and Patrick McDermott Sr. (Kathy McDermott).
Born in Elmhurst, Ill., Stephanie was 39 years old. She was raised in Elmhurst, Ill. and resided in Moorestown for the last three years with her family. Stephanie received her bachelor’s degree from Iowa University. She relished her role as being a wonderful mother for Jack the last five years.
Many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive Stephanie.
The family of Stephanie McDermott would like to thank the wonderful community of Moorestown for all the support offered even by those they did not know, their Wedgewood neighbors, the Trinity Episcopal Preschool staff and the entire staff at Baker Elementary School.
