Tomorrow night, the Cherry Hill Police Benevolent Association will host its first Pasta Dinner for Veterans. The event will begin at 6 p.m. at the American Legion Post 372, located at the corner of Martin and Marlboro avenues in Cherry Hill.
Approximately 65 United States military veterans will attend the dinner along with PBA and American Legion guest of honor, Philadelphia police officer Jesse Hartnett.
On Jan. 7, Hartnett was the victim of an unprovoked ambush while stopped in traffic in his patrol car. A highly decorated United States Coast Guard veteran, Hartnett will be recognized for his heroic actions during a brief ceremony at the event.
A motorcycle brigade and the Cherry Hill Police Department will escort Hartnett and other guests to the event. The motorcade will arrive at the American Legion around 6 p.m.
The event will also include a 50/50 prize with proceeds being donated to help Hartnett’s medical expenses and rehabilitation. There is no cost for admission or dinner for veterans attending. The pasta, bread, salads and dessert are being supplied, cooked and served by Cherry Hill-based Severino Pasta Company.
