On Sept. 15 at 11:13 a.m. Moorestown Police officers responded to the area of Hartford Road (County Route 686) north of Centerton Road for the report of a head-on motor vehicle crash with injuries.
Initial investigation at the scene revealed that a 40-year-old male was operating a 2006 Mack Rolloff Dumpster truck southbound in the right (straight) lane of Hartford road approaching the intersection at Centerton Road.
A 24-year-old female was operating a 2005 Acura TSX northbound on Hartford Road in the right (straight) lane approaching the intersection at Centerton Road. The 2005 Acura crossed over into the oncoming southbound lane of Hartford Road. The result was a head on collision between the 2006 Mack truck and the 2005 Acura TSX.
Lenola Emergency Unit transported the 40-year-old male driver of the 2006 Mack truck to Virtua Hospital in Mount Holly for moderate injuries.
The 24-year-old female driver of the 2005 Acura sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash and was transported by the Moorestown Emergency Squad to Virtua Hospital in Mount Holly. She was subsequently airlifted to Cooper Hospital on 9–15–16 in Camden where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The crash is under investigation by the Moorestown Police Traffic Safety Unit and the New Jersey State Police Commercial Carrier Safety Inspection Unit. Anyone with information or who witnessed this crash can contact the Traffic Safety Unit at (856) 914–3044.
