According to tips posted by the police via social media, a vehicle’s can quickly reach a temperature during hot weather. It can put a pet inside a car at risk of serious illness and death.
Cherry Hill Police recommend residents following these guidelines if they see a pet locked inside a hot car.
· Take down the car’s make, model, color and license plate number and have the owner paged in the nearest buildings.
· Call the police’s non-emergency number immediately at (856) 665–1200. If the animal is in distress, call 9–1–1.
· Do not leave the scene until the situation is resolved.
