Chesterbrook Academy preschool in Moorestown partnered with the Food Bank of South Jersey for the month of May to hold a food drive in honor of Red Nose Day on May 26. Students, parents and teachers worked together to collect almost 400 nonperishable food items to benefit the food bank. Students competed with their classrooms to collect the most food donations for the chance to win a pizza or ice cream party. On June 2, a truck from the food bank stopped by Chesterbrook Academy to pick up the donations, and students helped to load them onto the truck. The food that was collected will help feed those in need in the South Jersey area.
In the weeks leading up to Red Nose Day, which is a movement to raise awareness and funds to help lift children out of poverty, students learned the importance of giving back to the community and helping others.
