MacArthur Recognizes Two Local Students

On June 14, Congressman Tom MacArthur recognized a total of eight high school students in New Jersey’s Third Congressional District that have been chosen to represent the state as delegates at the Congress of Future Medical Leaders convention in Massachusetts from June 25 to June 27, 2016. Rebecca Lachance, a student at Shawnee High School, and Olivia Radwell, a student at Bishop Eustace Preparatory School were among his selections.

The program is an honors-only program for high school students who want to become physicians or go into medical research fields. All delegates are nominated by their teachers or the Academy based on proven academic excellence and a demonstrated desire to enter the medical profession. The purpose of this event is to honor, inspire, motivate and direct top tier students in our country to go after their goals.

“I am pleased to recognize the commitment of eight bright young New Jersey students to the medical research field,” said Congressman MacArthur. “I know you will represent our state well and your motivation to succeed will inspire many. You have all demonstrated academic excellence, drive and determination — you are the future of New Jersey’s medical talent. You should all be proud of your achievements, best of luck as you pursue your career in the medical field.”
