On Monday, May 9, the 12th Annual Medford Education Foundation Golf Outing and Tournament, hosted once again by Allen & Associates, will take place at the beautiful Medford Village Country Club in Medford. The day will begin with lunch at noon followed by a 1 p.m. shotgun start. After a great day on the links, cocktails will begin at 5 p.m. followed by dinner and awards 6 to 8 p.m.
Our 11th Annual Outing was a huge success and raised over $35,000 in net proceeds for the benefit of the Medford Township Public Schools and our students. Since 2004, the Medford Education Foundation has raised nearly $600,000 for the benefit of our public schools and students. These funds have been used for things such as mobile laptop laboratories, technology upgrades, the purchase of independent reading books and most recently, 120 laptops and seven Wifi enabled laptop carts — one for each of the schools in the district — to provide more opportunities for our students to access technology in the classroom. In June of 2015, the Foundation donated $50,000 in support of the district’s ChromeBooks initiative. The success of this outing is directly attributable to the generosity of all of our sponsors, contributors, and participants.
Sponsorship information, advertising information, and the registration form are available on the foundation’s website, www.medfordeducationfoundation.org/golf. “The Medford Education Foundation Golf Outing and Tournament is not only a fantastic opportunity to network and promote a business, but is also a fun and entertaining day with friends and colleagues who come together to support the mission of the Medford Education Foundation”, President of the Foundation Tommie Ann Gibney said. “The support we receive from the community allows us to underwrite programs which enhance the educational experience of Medford Township public school students.”
All proceeds from this event benefit the Medford Education Foundation, an independent, non-profit 501 c(3) corporation, comprised of parents, business owners, and educators who work to raise money in support of the Medford Township Public Schools. Funds raised by the Medford Education Foundation are also used for the Foundation’s Education Grant Program, which supports teachers and encourages creativity in the classroom for the benefit of Medford’s Kindergarten through eighth grade students. Foundation grants provide resources for extraordinary educational experiences such as hands-on classroom projects, field trips, art, music and drama programs, enhanced STEM education, guest speakers, assemblies and access to technology. The Medford Township Public School District serves more than 2,500 students in kindergarten through eighth grade.
