Groping reports and punctured tires top this week’s Mt. Laurel Police report

On Feb. 21 at 6:30 p.m. Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 38 near Dearborne Circle. During the stop officers arrested a female age 38 of Maple Shade. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

On Feb. 21 at 5 p.m. Mt. Laurel Police responded to the Home Depot on Nixon Drive for a shoplifting complaint. A suspect stole $189 worth of merchandise and then attempted to return it for a refund. Officers arrested a male age 25 of Camden. He was charged with shoplifting and released pending a court hearing.

On Feb. 21 at 11:03 a.m. Mt. Laurel Police responded to Wegman’s on Centerton Road for the report of a man groping female customers. The investigation revealed that a male suspect had purposely touched the buttocks of a 17-year-old female in the store. Officers arrested a male age 27 of Trenton. He was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and criminal sexual contact. He also had active criminal warrants for his arrest out of jurisdictions in Mercer County. Bail was set at $50,000 with no ten percent option and he was committed to the Burlington County Jail.

On Feb. 21 at 2:10 a.m. Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 38 near Ark Road. During the sop officers arrested a male age 40 of Mt. Holly. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

A resident on the 5300 block of Essex Lane reported someone entered her unlocked vehicle sometime between Feb. 19 and Feb. 20. Two pairs of prescription glasses and change were stolen.

A victim reported that her laptop computer was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked at a day care center at 809 South Church Street at 6:10 p.m. on Feb. 18. The suspect broke a window on the vehicle to gain entry.

A gust of a hotel on Fellowship Road reported his Galaxy 6 cellphone was stolen from his room sometime between 8:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Feb. 17.

On Feb. 17 at 5 p.m. Mt. Laurel Police responded to the Ulta store on Nixon Drive for a shoplifting complaint. Officers arrested a female age 52 of Voorhees for stealing $42 worth of merchandise. She was released pending a court hearing.

A victim reported his iPhone 6 was stolen when he placed it on the sales counter at Wawa on Larchmont Boulevard while he was paying for some items on Feb. 17 at 2:55 p.m.

On Feb. 17 at 2:30 p.m. Mt. Laurel Police responded to an attempted theft at Target on Centerton Road. Two suspects attempted to walk out of the store with two Dyson Vacuum cleaners. Loss prevention employees confronted the suspects who then ran out of the store leaving the merchandise behind.

A victim reported that three tires were punctured on her vehicle between February 14 and Feb. 16 while it was parked on the 1300 block of Wharton Road.

On Feb. 17 at 3:27 a.m. Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 near Fellowship Road. During the stop officers arrested a make age 36 of Brigantine. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and possession of prescription legend drugs. He was released pending a court hearing.

On Feb. 14 at 9:40 p.m. Mt. Laurel Police responded to Francesca’s Pizza at 127 Ark Road for a robbery. The manager reported that after closing the business for the night he exited the rear door of the store. As he was about to get into his car he was approached by a masked suspect dressed in black. The suspect brandished what the victim believed to be a handgun and demanded money. The manager gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect fled on foot.

On Feb. 13 at 10:55 p.m. Mt. Laurel Police responded to a theft report at the Bob Evans restaurant on Fellowship Road. An employee reported that his vehicle was stolen after he left it running, unlocked, and unattended in the parking lot to warm up. At 12:47 a.m. the vehicle was located by Westampton Police on County Route 541. A 16-year-old passenger from Mount Holly was arrested but the driver fled on foot. The investigation is ongoing.

On Feb. 12 at 11:56 p.m. Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Arbor Way at Church Road. During the stop officers arrested a male age 56 of Mt. Laurel. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

On Feb. 12 at 8:15 a.m. Mt. Laurel police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 near Church Road. During the stop officers arrested a male age 32 of Florida. Mr. Houghton was wanted for a probation violation in Orange County Florida. He was charged with being a fugitive from justice with bail set at $10,000, no 10 percent option. He was committed to the Burlington County Jail.

On Feb. 11 at 3:14 p.m. Mt. Laurel Police responded to the 7–11 at 3051 West Route 38 for a theft report. The cashier reported that a customer stole her cell phone after she placed it on the sales counter. Officers were able to identify the suspect as a male age 18 of Mt. Laurel. On Feb. 13 at 1:29 p.m. officers located the male at the Burger King on Route 38. He was arrested for an outstanding criminal warrant and for the theft of the cell phone. He was charged with theft and released after posting bail on the warrant.

On Feb. 11 a male age 19 Camden was turned over to the Mt. Laurel Police. He was wanted for credit card theft, wrongful impersonation, and conspiracy to commit credit card theft. He was identified as one of two suspects who used credit cards that were stolen from vehicles in Mt. Laurel on Dec. 9. Bail was set at $30,000 with no 10 percent option and he was committed to the Burlington County Jail.

On Feb. 10 between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. two vehicles parked in the Lifetime Fitness parking lot 3939 Church Road were broken into. In both cases the suspect broke a window on the vehicle and stole a purse from within.

On Feb. 10 at 11:25 p.m. Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Ark Road near Route 38. During the stop officers arrested a male age 27 of Pennsauken. He was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released pending a court hearing after satisfying an outstanding warrant.

On Feb. 10 at 12:35 a.m. Mt. Laurel Police responded to the dead end of Lenola Road adjacent to the Eastgate Square Shopping Center for a theft report. A 25 year old victim stated that he arranged to meet another man at that location through a dating website. On arrival the suspect got into the victim’s car. After talking for a short time the suspect asked to use the victim’s iPhone 6 Plus and then ran off with it. At 2:38 a.m. officers were called out to the area again for a similar attempted theft. The 19 year old victim met the suspect through the same dating website. The suspect attempted to steal the victim’s cell phone but was unsuccessful and he ran off towards Route 73.

On Feb. 9 at 2:27 a.m. Mt. Laurel Police conducted an investigation into suspicious activity at a hotel on Fellowship Road. During the investigation officers arrested a male age 19 of Mt. Laurel and a male age 21 of Hamilton. Both were charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and released pending a court hearing.

On Feb. 8 at 4:38 p.m. Mt. Laurel Police responded to a residence on the 100 block of Birchfielfd Court for an abandoned 911 call. On arrival the officer was directed to an unconscious 33-year-old male inside the residence. The officer determined the subject was suffering from a heroin overdose and administered Narcan. The victim was revived and transported to a hospital by Mt. Laurel EMS for additional treatment.
