Unitarian Universalist Church of Cherry Hill hosting discussion on ‘Why Black Lives Matter in South Jersey’ next Thursday

Community members of South Jersey are invited to participate in a public forum, discussion and direct action on “Why Black Lives Matter in South Jersey” on Thursday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Cherry Hill 401 North Kings Highway.

This event will foster an understanding of why black lives matter in Southern New Jersey. The discussion will address disparities in the criminal justice system, law enforcement practices, housing, and employment policies and strategies to affect these issues. There will be an opportunity for attendees to contact legislators and local officials during the event.

Guest panelists are:

  • Jonathan Young, Jr. Camden County freeholder
  • Deputy Mayor Rick Taylor, Pennsauken Township council
  • Loretta Winters, president Gloucester County NAACP
  • Rev. Eric Dobson, Fair Share Housing
  • Lt. Aaron Hawkins, Willingboro Police Department
  • Rev. Kamili Leath, Destiny Church in Moorestown
