Haddonfield Historical Society meeting hosts presentation and boxwood ball sale Nov. 18

At the Historical Society of Haddonfield there will be a History of Cranberries and Culture Presentation at Greenfield Hall on Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m.

The November General meeting will feature Rick Prickett from Whitesbog Preservation Trust in Browns Mills. Prickett will be speaking on the history and culture of cranberries in New Jersey. Just in time for Thanksgiving and the holidays, this presentation highlights how important the New Jersey Pine Barrens were to the development of the cranberry.

Also, it is time to order your Boxwood Balls. Decorate your home this Holiday season with our fragrant, fresh-cut boxwood balls, each lovingly hand crafted and adorned with a festive red ribbon bow and green plastic hanger.

Two sizes this year: The small ball measures 7 inches by 9 inches and costs $20. The large ball measures 8 inches by 10 inches and costs $25. They are flat on the back so they can be hung on a door or window.

These boxwood balls are an HSH tradition, available this year by pre-order only. They will be ready for pick up at our Holly Festival on Sunday, Dec. 13 from noon to 4 p.m. or by prearranged pick-up.

Check, cash or PayPal is accepted. Checks should be made payable to: Historical Society of Haddonfield and mailed to the address below. Please include your email address and phone number as well as the size and number of boxwood balls you would like to order. If you are paying via PayPal please log onto the website haddonfieldhistory.org at and click on the PayPal tab on the right where it says, “Please donate” and then email us at [email protected] and indicate the number of balls and your contact information.
