Mooretown Rotary Breakfast Club donates $10,000 to Moorestown Community House

The Moorestown Rotary Breakfast Club pledged $10,000 to the Moorestown Community House, which is in the middle of their Capital Campaign to raise $2 million.

The MCH’s founder Eldridge Johnson pledge $250,000 in 1923 to create a gathering place for the town residents, providing the residents could raise enough fund to create an endowment to cover the expenses. The residents raised $117,000 with donations from 740 individuals in 1924. The MCH mission is to provide a setting for social, recreational and extracurricular needs of everyone in the community.

The MCH has been home to the Moorestown Rotary Breakfast Club since 1986, stated Rotary Club President Scott Aschoff.

“Our Club is honored to help with the Capital Campaign to preserve the past of this award winning venue and be able to serve the community for the next 90 years,” said Ashoff.

MCH Executive Director Brad Kenney addressed and thank the Rotary Breakfast Club for their pledge, and use of the Community Houses facilities for the last 29 years. The Community House has boasts 25,000 square feet, three floors, 29 rooms on two acres located on Main Street in Moorestown, and has won 2015 South Jersey’s Magazine Best Traditional Wedding and Wedding Wire awards in 2014 and 2015.
