Burlington County Sheriff’s Department promotes law enforcement explorer post

Burlington County Sheriff Jean Stanfield announced the creation of a new Burlington County Law Enforcement Explorer Post, offering an exciting opportunity for young people interested in a career in law enforcement.

The Sheriff’s Department has partnered with local police departments from Westampton Township, Eastampton Township, Lumberton Township and Mount Holly Township to launch what will officially be known as Law Enforcement Explorer Post #150.

Orientation will be held on Monday, Sept. 21, at 6 p.m. in the County’s Emergency Services Training Center located at 53 Academy Drive in Westampton.

“Law Enforcement Exploring is the preeminent career orientation and experience program for young men and women contemplating a career in the field of criminal justice,” Stanfield said. “All those who participate will gain a better understanding of the exciting opportunities that exist for those interested in serving their communities through a career in law enforcement.”

Participants will receive uniforms, take part in community events, listen to speakers and participate in activities that teach them about various aspects of law enforcement. With existing posts currently established in Evesham, Riverside, and Burlington City, the new Post #150 will serve students throughout the rest of the County.

With room for 30 students, those interested can find the application on the County webpage, at www.co.burlington.nj.us. Once submitted, applicants will be invited to an interview and orientation program.
