The Department of Parks & Rec Column

Ahhh summer — the summer breezes, swim clubs in full gear, young people riding their bikes on a relaxed summer schedule — and registration for fall recreation activities. What!?

Yes, it’s hard to believe as we travel down this long, winding road to the end of the school year, that our start of summer bliss will soon be turning to preparing for fall again. That’s not to say we can’t enjoy the moment — “carpe diem” as they say — but before long we will be bemoaning the fact that we missed registration dates.

No worries. The Department of Parks and Recreation is ahead of the curve with a full complement of fall activities ready for registration on their website. From Recreation Youth Soccer and Girls Field Hockey to sports clinics and fall arts programs the Recreation Department have been hard at work preparing our fall schedule.

Old favorites like soccer, tennis, pre-school sports and yoga are on the schedule, as well as a variety of newer programs like badminton and pickleball. Additionally, the fall offerings for our special needs residents have increased. The department’s mantra of “something for everyone” holds true season after season. Each year, recreation programs grow in participation and scope so register now.

Through a variety of partnerships the Department of Parks and Recreation provides more and more each year for the residents of Moorestown. Partnerships with local non-profits provide greater access to recreation programming while partnerships with youth sports organizations offer multiple opportunities for individuals desiring varying levels of competition. The Department of Parks and Recreation is proud to offer such a wide variety of programs to the residents of Moorestown.
