Male charged with assaulting Evesham Police Officers during cab fare dispute

On May 25, officers responded to the unit block of Dorset Drive for a male refusing to pay a cab fare. Upon officers arrival they encountered a disorderly male who physically attacked the responding officers. The 43-year-old male pushed one of the officers and attempted to strike another officer while being taken into custody. During the struggle one of the officers and the accused both suffered minor injuries. The accused was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries and shortly thereafter was cleared for incarceration. He was subsequently lodged at the Burlington County Jail in lieu of $5,000 full bail.

Arrested:

A male, age 43, of Marlton, was charged with third degree aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, fourth degree resisting arrest, fourth degree obstruction, and a disorderly persons offense for disorderly conduct. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail in default of $5,000 full bail.
