The service will feature special music, including an anthem performed by an expanded choir of current and former members. Past Trinity ministers have been invited to attend the service and the special reception that follows.

“The May 31st worship service will be a wonderful celebration with amazing music and some old friends from Trinity’s past joining us as we give thanks for our beautiful house of worship,” said the Rev. Gregory Faulkner, Trinity’s senior pastor.

Trinity Presbyterian Church traces its beginnings to 1956, when the session of the First Presbyterian Church in Haddonfield initiated the beginning of a new church for neighboring Cherry Hill Township. The “new church” committee decided to call the church “Trinity;” in May 1957, the first worship service was held at the Erlton School for 95 adults and 45 church school children.

Trinity’s first sanctuary was in the basement of an office building on the church’s current Route 70 property. A converted materials shed later served as a second, larger sanctuary. This was transformed into a Social Hall when the present sanctuary was completed in 1965.

A refurbishment of the 50-year-old sanctuary was undertaken last summer using funds donated by members of the congregation through a capital campaign. To hold down costs, the refurbishment relied heavily on volunteers. Trinity members devoted more than 1,800 hours of service to the various painting, carpentry, lighting, and other projects. The refurbishment was completed on schedule and under budget.

Visitors are always welcome to Trinity’s Sunday morning worship. Childcare will be available.
