Congratulations to Lenape High School students Gabrielle Shvartsman, Roshan Vasoya, Grace Stridick, and Kavi Munjal, who were all selected to attend NJ Governor’s School. The girls are going to Drew University and the boys will attend Rutgers University.
Science teacher Mrs. Kate DeSantis said, “Each school may only nominate four students,” science teacher Kate DeSantis said. “It is highly competitive — many schools don’t get any students accepted. It is very unusual, and a high honor to our school, that all four of our applicants were accepted.”
The Governor’s School of New Jersey was established in 1983. It is a tuition-free, summer, residential program for high-achieving high school seniors who have an interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics subjects. Currently, there are two programs: the Governor’s School in the Sciences at Drew University and the Governor’s School of Engineering and Technology at Rutgers University.
