Local resident and teacher hosts a CD release party at the Moorestown Community House on March 22

Local resident Laura Dishong, a harpist and singer-songwriter and music teacher at Mary E. Roberts Elementary School in Moorestown, is doing a free CD release party in Moorestown at the Moorestown Community House Ballroom on Sunday, March 22 at 3:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. It is an all-ages show.

Her CD “Little Green Apples” was recorded at Cedar Street Studios in Philadelphia and engineered/produced by Ted Richardson of TED Audio. She wrote her songs in a pop-folk style, and her harp is backed up by Darren Keith on drums, Mark Dishong on keys, Michael G. Ronstadt on cello, Ellie Dishong on fiddle, James Hamilton on percussion and Ted Richardson on keyboard bass. The sound is quite unique. All songs were written on a mythological theme.

Her band previously performed at the STEM festival last October. They’ve also played at the Arts in the Park Festival, Make Music Philly, Caesars Casino in Atlantic City and a multitude of venues across the Delaware Valley.

Laura Dishong is a music teacher at Mary E. Roberts Elementary School in Moorestown, NJ. Her husband Mark Dishong is a music teacher at Kirby’s Mill Elementary in Medford, NJ. Their daughter Ellie, who is also performing, is a sixth grader at Moorestown Upper Elementary School. The Dishong family performed at the Moorestown STEM Festival last October. Laura has also been seen around Moorestown at the Autumn in Moorestown Festival and the former Caffe La Bella Restaurant, where she worked as a harpist for eight years.
