The following information comes from Lt. Joseph Friel with the Evesham Township Police Department:
On Feb. 3, Evesham Police Detectives developed intelligence regarding suspicious activity that was taking place out of an apartment on Hailey Drive. A surveillance operation by detectives led to the observation of possible illicit activity outside the apartment.
The investigation led to a vehicle being stopped, at which time the occupants provided investigators with inconsistent stories of their activity. During the investigation, a Medford Police K-9 was requested to assist officers with the detection of narcotics. The K9 conducted an exterior sniff of the subject’s vehicle at which time he alerted investigators to the presence of narcotics inside the car. A search warrant was obtained for the vehicle and the execution of search warrant on Feb. 4 yielded the discovery of cocaine, heroin, a large amount of unused heroin packaging material and US currency.
A male, age 26 of Philadelphia, was charged with third degree possession of heroin, third degree possession of cocaine and a disorderly persons offense for possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $7500
A female, age 28, of Philadelphia, was charged with fourth degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, stun-gun. She was released on her own recognizance.
