Adath Emanu-El’s Sisterhood and AEFTY teens sponsored a “A Day of Tikkun Olam” on Jan. 19. More than 100 Adath members, including about 75 children and teens, participated in 11 different community service projects. This event was to commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday, which has become a national day of service.
This event was a great way to bring the Adath Emanu-El community together, from toddlers to seniors, while doing so many good deeds for the community. Some of the organizations that benefited from the projects were the Burlington County Animal Shelter, Ronald McDonald House, Cathedral Kitchens, Samaritan Hospice and more. Additionally, Adath shared their day of service with women and children from a local mosque to encourage and develop relationships across religions.
