Adath Emanu-El teens attend social justice event in Washington D.C.

Teens from Adath Emanu-El’s youth program, in conjunction with the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, traveled with Rabbi Ben David to Washington D.C. over the weekend of Dec. 5.

At this yearly social justice event, teens learn about key political issues and the power of lobbying. While there they met with other teens from across the country to learn together and discuss political issues.

The group also had the opportunity to speak at the Washington D.C. offices of U.S. Senator Robert Menendez. Teens spoke with Menendez’s staff about the International Violence Against Women Act, LGBT Rights and about the Jewish values of equality and compassion for all. They also visited the Supreme Court and were able to observe oral arguments.
