Winterfest Ice Skating at Cooper River will open on Friday Nov. 28. The ice rink will have a number of special events for its opening weekend.
An opening ceremony will take place on Nov. 28 at 6 p.m. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony, tree lighting, holiday characters and caroling.
Through Nov. 30, there will be special performances, a carousel ride, giveaways, prizes, food and refreshment vendors. On each night of opening weekend, there will be a Winterfest Ice Skating Spectacular at 7 p.m. Skaters from Ice Creative Entertainment will perform a routine. Visitors can skate with the stats following the performance.
The ice rink will remain open through Jan. 6. Weekday hours are 3 to 10 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, the rink will be open from noon to 10Â p.m.
The cost for admission is $4 for adults and teens 13 and older. Children 12 and under are admitted for free. Skates can also be rented for $3.
