Republican candidates win seats on Mt. Laurel Council

Mt. Laurel Council will remain entirely Republican in 2015 as candidates Dennis Riley and Richard Van Noord defeated Democratic candidates Carol Murphy and Dan Rosenberg.

According to unofficial results from the The Burlington County Board of Elections, Riley and Van Noord combined for 53.71 percent of the vote. Murphy and Rosenberg received 46.27 percent of the votes. There were six write-in votes.

The full unofficial results from the Burlington County Board of Elections are as follows:

Dennis Riley (R) — 27.40 percent (5,751 votes)
Richard Van Noord (R) — 26.31 percent (5,521 votes)

Carol Murphy (D) — 23.31 percent (4,892 votes)
Dan Rosenberg (D) — 22.96 percent (4,818 votes)

For Mt. Laurel Board of Education, incumbents Diane Blair, Christine Dickson and Margaret Haynes were all re-elected to three-year terms. The trio ran unopposed for each of their seats.

The Lenape Regional Board of Education had one seat up for re-election in Mt. Laurel as well. Paula Lee won re-election for that seat. She ran unopposed.

These unofficial results do not include mail-in or provisional ballots.
