Dennis Riley and Rich Van Noord make final pitch for Mt. Laurel Council

We have been humbled by the positive response from residents during this election and the support we have received for our common-sense plan to do more with less money. We look forward to utilizing our extensive professional experience in finance and business to make local government even more accountable and efficient with a fatherly focus on making our town’s future even brighter for our kids. We have given back as volunteer planning board members and look forward to doubling down on our commitment to our community as Mt. Laurel councilmen.

This election is all about experience. Our ideas have come through years of experience understanding the challenges our community faces, coupled with the professional understanding of how to solve problems in the real world. It’s troubling that most of our opponents’ political platform is based on things that our local government has already been doing for years. We are required by law to have yearly independent audits, we have a town and police department social media presence, we tape all of our council, zoning board and planning board meetings and have provided five years of financial background information for residents to learn more about how their tax dollars are spent online.

As pointed out by Mayor Dave D’Antonio, their bogus claims on the surplus are unfounded and a blatant misrepresentation of the truth. We’ll chalk it up to ignorance since neither of our opponents have even attended a Council meeting. We believe when the township collects more in taxes and fees than it needs, the extra money should be returned to the taxpayers. Our opponents believe otherwise. In the meantime, we will focus on your priorities: continuing our progress on providing tax relief, ensuring that residents have a seat at the table in developing a 10-year plan for Mt. Laurel and protecting our quality of life and home values by preserving open space.

We would be honored to have your vote on Nov. 4. Together, we can make Mt. Laurel an even better place to live, work and raise a family.
