Carol Murphy and Dan Rosenberg make final pitch for Mt. Laurel Council

Throughout this campaign, we have run a truly issue based campaign bringing to light that the Mount Laurel Township Council had squandered $15 million of taxpayer money from the budget surplus instead of finding cost-saving alternatives to lower property taxes. Rich Van Noord and Dennis Riley, who are political appointees of this same council, attempted to deceive voters last week about the $15 million raid of the surplus.

The facts are simple. The Mount Laurel Council has used more than $15 million in the past three years from the budget surplus for government spending instead of finding cost saving alternatives that would have lowered property taxes. Van Noord and Riley tried to deceive you last week disputing these facts as part of their desperate smear campaign. They even levied an attack on work that led to the modernization of eight schools right here in Mount Laurel.

In our opinion, Van Noord and Riley are not fit for public office. Their blatant disregard for the truth is troubling. There is a better way, and together we can stop the raiding of budget surpluses, waste of your tax dollars and end the sleazy gutter politics on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
