Letter: Kevin McCloy for Tabernacle BOE

Dear Residents of Tabernacle,

My name is Kevin McCloy and I am asking for your support in the upcoming board of education election.

I have been a resident of Tabernacle for 29 years, was fortunate enough to develop my love of learning and desire to succeed in these schools, and hope for the same for my son.

I will work to ensure that the students in Tabernacle continue to receive a high quality education to help them achieve their full potential. Key to this is preparing the students to deal with real-world situations and developing strong problem-solving skills, while also encouraging their gifts and talents. These skills will give our students a good foundation to use as building blocks throughout the rest of their lives.

As a pharmacist I rely on knowledge learned in many subjects (including science, math, technology and communications) and integrate this into a multidisciplinary approach to problem solving. This background allows me to contribute to discussions about programs, such as the evaluation of iSTEM, from the perspective of a community member using these skills every day.

The close-knit community in Tabernacle makes it a special place to live, and the schools are the center of our community. The board of education should work as a collaborative group representing our community, interacting closely with the community members to do what is best for the children and our township. This means providing a high-quality education to the students while also utilizing our tax dollars responsibly.

Being able to serve as a member of the board of education would allow me to give back some of my experience and knowledge to the community. Thank you and please vote Nov. 4th!

Sincerely,

Kevin McCloy
