Identity fraud, theft top Mt. Laurel Police Report this week

The following information was provided by the Mt. Laurel Police Department.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 43-year-old man of the unit block of Highbridge Road, Trenton, on Oct. 10 for possession of heroin. He was stopped on Sedgefiled Drive near Larchmont Boulevard and found to have warrants for his arrest. He was arrested and subsequently found to be in possession of heroin. He was served with criminal complaints and released pending a court hearing.

A resident of the unit block of Fairfax Drive reported two fraudulent transactions, totaling over $422, were made using the victim’s checking account information. The incidents occurred between Sept. 16 and Sept. 18.

A resident of the 200 block of Oliphant Lane reported that between 8:30 a.m. and 8:15 p.m. Oct. 10 someone attempted to force open the front door and a window. Entry was not gained. Damage is estimated at $200.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested an 18-year-old woman, of the 1200 block of West Airdrie Street, Philadelphia, on Oct. 10 at 1:40 p.m. for forgery. An investigation revealed that while renting an apartment in Mt. Laurel earlier this year, the woman received checks in the mail belonging to a former tenant of the same apartment. She used one of the checks belonging to the former tenant to pay a $393 cell phone bill. She was charged with forgery and theft and released pending a court hearing.

An employee of Eric’s Landscaping on Mt. Laurel Road reported a burglary and theft to a storage trailer between 6 p.m. Oct. 10 and 6 a.m. Oct. 13. Entry was gained by kicking in the trailer door. Power tools, valued at approximately $3,500, were taken.

A patron of Prospector’s on Route 38 reported the theft of a wallet and contents, valued at over $170. The owner inadvertently left the wallet in the restaurant on Oct. 13 between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. When he returned the wallet could not be located.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 31-year-old woman of the 100 block of Apley Drive, Cherry Hill, on Oct. 14 at 1 a.m., for driving while intoxicated after she was stopped for a motor vehicle violation on Route 73 in the area of Church Road. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 54-year-old man, of the 500 block of Quail Road, Marlton, on Oct. 14 at 2:30 a.m. for driving while intoxicated after he sideswiped a Mt. Laurel Police patrol car on Route 73 near Roger’s Walk. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana under 50 grams. He was released pending a court hearing. No injuries resulted from the collision.

A resident of the unit block of Hillside Lane reported an identity theft. The IRS notified the victim that a fraudulent tax return was filed using the victim’s personal identification information. The incident occurred at an unspecified date and time.

A resident of the 100 block of Canterbury Road reported a criminal mischief to a residence. A front window of the residence was broken between 12:30 and 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 14 causing an estimated at $200 in damage.
