Haddon Fire Company №1 is pleased to announce that the Haddonfield Ambulance Association has purchased a new Automatic External Defibrillator for the Borough Hall and for the Borough Public Works facility. These new lifesaving units will be installed in the open, common areas for immediate access during a life-threatening cardiac emergency.
The Brad Wilby Foundation also purchased 2 AEDs for the community. One will be installed at the Little League Field and the other will be given to the High School Nursing Office. The foundation promotes awareness of cardiac disease. The foundation also specializes in the training and placement of AED devices throughout the community and raising awareness about sudden cardiac arrest.
Several of the Fire Department EMT personnel are now CPR/AED instructors, after completing the required Red Cross or American Heart Association required courses, and will train certain employees within he Borough to administer CPR and use the new AED equipment.
EMT Justin Walters, a new employee, has been working with the Haddonfield School Board and all of our local schools with their need to comply with Janet’s Law, effective in September of this year. He recently trained over 10 teachers at Elizabeth Haddon School and he also has confirmed that all public schools now have AED machines available.
