A $1,000 scholarship was awarded to Cherry Hill High School West graduate Eytan Gittler who will attend Georgetown University and major in nursing. A $500 scholarship was awarded to Cherry Hill High School West graduate Marissa Clemens who will attend the College of New Jersey and major in elementary education. A $250 scholarship was awarded to Cherry Hill High School East graduate Amanda Friedman, who will attend Haverford College and major in theology and a $250 scholarship was awarded to Cherry Hill High School East graduate Sean Dan who will attend the University of Texas at Austin and major in mechanical engineering.

The library’s scholarship program was established in 2011 by a former volunteer board member who wanted to help the Cherry Hill community by advancing educational opportunities for its students. This year, there were 19 applicants, increasing the number of recipients from three to four. The quality and quantity of the students deemed it necessary to award more than three winners. The winners were chosen based on their academic records, their essays describing what makes the library special to them and recommendations from their mentors.
