Bill Keown of Cherry Hill passed at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Shirley J. Keown (nee Geddes). He is also survived by his daughter. Loving father of Lorna M. Klimas (Mark P.), grandsons Peter Mark (Carolyn Riley) and Kyle William Klimas, great-granddaughter Coraline Klimas and three generations of nieces and nephews.

Bill was an Eagle Scout. He graduated from Collingswood High School in 1941 and from Dickinson College. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Bill attended Dickinson School of Law and was admitted to practice law in New Jersey in 1950. He worked in his father’s law office until his father’s death and then conducted a private practice through 2009. He was a former member of the Camden County, New Jersey State and American Bar Associations and was admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court.

A long-time Haddonfield resident, Bill was active in community affairs and served as President of the Haddonfield Little League, the Wedgewood Swim Club, the Tri-County Swimming Pool Association, the Haddonfield Y’s Men Club, the Haddonfield Assembly, the Camden Reciprocity Club and most recently a member of the Haddonfield 65 Club. He was also a 62-year member of the First Presbyterian Church of Haddonfield, a member of the Chancel and Oratorio Choirs, served as an Elder and as President of the Board of Trustees.

A memorial service is scheduled for May 17 at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 20 E. Kings Highway, Haddonfield, NJ 08033. Bill’s family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Internment is private. Memorial donations may be made to the church at the above address.
