On March 7 at 12:04 p.m., Cherry Hill Police responded to the report of a man with a weapon in the lobby of The One Cherry Hill Building. This is a high rise office building located on the parking lot of the Cherry Hill Mall complex.
Upon arrival police determined that a single shot had been fired from a weapon inside the lobby of the building. Witnesses stated that a male with a small handgun then exited the building and entered a vehicle.
A short time later police stopped a vehicle with a male operator matching the description of the actor. The driver was identified as a 33-year-old male from Camden. He was arrested at that time. A handgun was also recovered from the vehicle. The subsequent investigation revealed that the discharge of the weapon was accidental. No one was injured as a result of this incident.
