On Jan. 18 at approximately 2:24 p.m. the Cherry Hill Police responded to a report of a possible burglary in progress call on the 300 block of State Street. A neighbor reported observing an unknown male, carrying a duffel bag, enter the rear of a vacant home.

As police units arrived on location a male emerged from the rear of the home and ran north through the neighborhood. A search of the surrounding area led to the suspect a short distance away. Officers immediately observed that the suspect’s boots and pants were wet. A check of the vacant residence revealed copper piping which had been cut into pieces and approximately four to six inches of standing water in the basement.

The suspect was charged with burglary, theft, possession of burglary tools, criminal mischief and possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was later remanded to Camden County Jail in default of $7,500 bail.
