Dorothy W. Read
On Jan. 14, 2014, age 86, of Collingswood Manor, formerly of Haddonfield. Predeceased by her parents Dorothy F. & C. Carlton, II and her brother C. Carlton, III. Survived by her sister-in-law Debra H. Read of Haddonfield, 3 nephews: Charles (Emilie), John (Dana) and William (Catherine) and 6 great nieces & nephews.
Dorothy graduated from Friends Select in Philadelphia & Beaver College. She worked in the family drugstore, Holman Enterprises and most recently at Eckinhoff Buick. She was the women’s golf champion 3 years at Tavistock Country Club and she also excelled at bowling and bridge.
Dorothy is best known for her positive attitude, cheerful disposition, and great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by her family and many, many friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at 10 AM on Monday, Jan. 20, followed by a Memorial Service for Dorothy at 11 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, 19 E. Kings Hwy., Haddonfield, NJ 08033.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dorothy’s name to the Church at the above address or to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 424 East 92nd St., New York, NY 10128.
