On Jan. 12, 2014, Beloved husband for 58 years of Dorothy (nee Mayer); Loving father of Robert A., Jr. (Cathy) of New Hope, PA and Ronald P. (Robin) of Richmond, VA; Cherished grandfather of 7: Ashton, Kelsey, Patrick, Ann Carter, Caitlin, Christopher and Matthew; and Dear brother of Paul of Carmel, IN and Reta Thorne of W. Newton, PA.
Mr. Herbert proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Westminster Univ. and received his Master’s degree on a Fels Napp Scholarship to Univ. of Penn’s Wharton School of Business. For many years, he had been a Real Estate Property Manager; retiring from Rubin and Associates in Philadelphia. Mr. Herbert was a member of the American Legion, Post #38, the Haddonfield 65 Club and the Haddonfield Mason Lodge for 25 years. He also conscientiously served on the Haddonfield Board of Education and was instrumental in the approval and construction of the C building at the HS.
Mr. Herbert’s family will receive friends on Thursday, Jan. 16th, 6–8 PM at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, 15 West End Ave., Haddonfield, NJ; where a Masonic Service will be held at 8 PM. All are invited to his Funeral Service, Friday Jan. 17th, 11 AM, at the First Presbyterian Church, 20 E. Kings Hwy., Haddonfield, NJ 08033. Interment, Haddonfield Baptist Cem. Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Herbert’s name to the Church at the above address; where Mr. Herbert had been a member for over 50 years.
