Watercolor display coming to Mt. Laurel Library in February

Mount Laurel Library will be hosting a watercolor art display by John Hood from Saturday, Feb. 1 through Friday, Feb. 28. A Meet the Artist Reception will be held on Sunday, Feb.9 at 3 p.m. No registration is required

John Hood decided to enjoy and pursue his artistic abilities in retirement. Throughout his life, Hood enjoyed sketching and drawing as a pastime which led to taking a college course in watercolors. He continues taking classes, exhibiting and participating in local galleries and art shows. Recently he received a second place award in Camden County’s senior citizen juried art show.

“Watercolor paintings are a unique way to creatively represent my dreams, illusions, emotions and feelings, expressing what I am feeling or thinking,” says Hood. “The joy is in the painting. Just as in life, the joy is in the daily living of it, not where it gets you.

The artwork is for sale. John Hood can be reached for more information about the exhibit at [email protected] or (856) 470–7634.
