“Housewarming” at Indian Cultural Center

The Indian Cultural Center, located on Route 73 North, in Evesham Township, held a house warming ceremony on Sunday, Dec. 16. Township council members Ken D’Andrea, Bob DiEnna, and Steve Zeuli along with State Senator Dawn Addiego attended the event.

“Our dream is now a reality due to the hard work of countless volunteers, community members and our supporters,” Jay Parikh, a cultural center representative told township officials.

The township is proud to welcome the cultural center and the community outreach it will bring. “The ceremony was inspirational and welcoming. Everyone in attendance could not help but feel a sense of family,” DiEnna said.

He also noted the structurally impressive and aesthetically beautiful 20,577 square foot building that features a clear span main hall (no posts or columns).

“We are looking forward to our future with the all-embracing Indian community and the openness to all groups,” DiEnna said.

Council members are excited about the positive relationships the community center will bring to Evesham Township with its cultural, educational, religious, and social activities.

“This beautiful structure is conducive to large events and social gatherings, which integrates perfectly with our theme of community,” D’Andrea said, who is also the co-founder of the Evesham Celebrations Foundation.
“I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support on behalf of the Indian community in Evesham and neighboring towns,” Parikh said. “Our work is never going to be complete as we now begin a new chapter to operate the center and bring all our community under one roof.”

The ribbon cutting ceremony is slated for the spring, when it will be open to the community.
