Haddonfield and Woodstown mayors are upping the ante for Saturdays SJ Group II Final

Haddonfield mayor Jeff Kasko and Woodstown mayor Don Dietrich, each rooting for their town’s high school football team, have agreed to a friendly wager on Saturday’s South Jersey Group 2 Championship game. Each has chosen a local charitable group as the recipient of any “winnings” from their wager.

If Haddonfield wins, Dietrich will make a contribution to Interfaith Caregivers of Haddonfield. If Woodstown wins, Kasko will make a contribution to the Woodstown-Pilesgrove School Foundation, Inc.

Both mayors insist that their respective high school football teams will be victorious on Saturday. On top of bragging rights for his town and its high school, one of the mayors will also be happy to accept a personal donation from the other for one of his favorite local charitable groups.

Saturday’s football game will be played at Rowan University at 1 p.m.

Interfaith Caregivers is a non-profit charitable group that facilitates independent living by providing supportive volunteer services for people in the area who are elderly or have disabilities. The Woodstown-Pilesgrove School Foundation is a non-profit, tax-exempt entity that provides supplemental funding for unique educational and facility upgrade opportunities in the local school district.

May the best team — along with one of these local charities — win.
