Medford Arts Center presents Quattro Bassi on Nov. 10

The Medford Arts Center presents Quattro Bassi on Sunday, Nov. 10.

Quattro Bassi can be imagined as an instrumental barbershop quartet. The virtuosity of these four players debunks any stereotype associated with the tuba. The group performs a wide variety of music, from the Renaissance and Baroque Periods to the Ragtime, Dixieland, and Big Band styles of the 20th century.

Quattro Bassi consists of four low-brass instrumentalists: Bob Greene and Jim Weinhouse on euphonium and Art Leiby and Harry Salotti on tuba.

The group has performed for the last 15 years in the Philadelphia and South Jersey areas.

For the past 25 years, Salotti has performed in the Philadelphia and Atlantic City areas on the tuba and bass. Some of his credits include: Barnum/Chicago; The Seacoast Brass; and The Bay Atlantic Symphony.

Leiby is a freelance trombonist, bass trombonist, euphoniumist and tubist in the Philadelphia and Atlantic City area.

Weinhouse holds a bachelor of arts degree from West Chester University and a master’s of music degree in Music Composition from Temple University.

Greene is active as a freelance trombonist, pianist and church organist. He plays euphonium with the Wind Symphony of Southern New Jersey.

Admission will be $10 at the door. For further information please contact Yole Patterson at (609) 654–8263 or [email protected].
