Mayor’s Message: Harvest Fest event was a success

It happened again!

Yes, another wonderful community event happened again in Evesham Township recently along Historic Main
Street.

The Evesham Celebrations Foundation and Evesham Township, once again, executed a day filled with family fun, which included food, music, crafts, children’s activities and much, much more.

Most importantly, the day has left all those who participated with lasting memories. The Evesham Harvest Fest brought together friends, neighbors, businesses, non-profits and visitors, more than 30,000 of them! The positive feedback I have received from those who attended has been awesome.

When I was elected mayor in 2007, my vision to reinstate community events tugged at my heartstrings even more. I wanted families to experience what my family and our neighbors had experienced when I was growing up in Evesham. Shortly after being elected, I created a non-profit group of volunteers to work in unison with the township to make this vision a reality.
I could not be more proud of a group that continually demonstrates determination and commitment. And it is those qualities that speak volumes.

Volunteers such as these are the backbone of our community. They are unsung heroes who are willing to share their valuable time, talents and energy for the good of their town.

For the past six years, I am grateful and pleased to say, we have not only brought the Independence Day celebration back to our town, but also created so many new community events.

Evesham has gathered as a community for: Taste of Evesham, Bike Evesham, Evesham Harvest Fest and Winterfest and we continue to develop even more and at no expense to our taxpayers.

The overwhelming attendance at these events is a testament to how the town, also, has been yearning for community involvement to resurface.

I thank you all: residents, businesses, volunteers and employees for making the vision a reality and making it happen again.
