County offers grant funding for art programs

Burlington County nonprofit arts organizations and community groups that offer arts programming to county residents are invited to apply for 2014 grant funding. The “notice of intent to apply” must be filed by Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 4 p.m.

Aimed at making the arts an affordable and integral part of the community, the competitive matching grant dollars are offered by Burlington County in partnership with the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State through the Local Arts Program. The limited funding may be used for arts-related activities conducted between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2014.

First-time applicants may be eligible for grants up to $3,000 each, and organizations that have a prior grant history with Burlington County may be eligible for grants up to $5,000 each. All grant awards require matching applicant funds.

Free workshops focusing on the application process will be scheduled and any organization applying for funding for the first time will be required to have a representative attend one of the sessions.

Organizations that have received funding in the past should also consider attending a workshop. A workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 26, at 6:30 p.m. in the Parks Headquarters office. Call (609) 265–5959 to register and to get directions. Another workshop will be schedule for organizations who call and cannot attend on August 26.

The form, which must be mailed, emailed, or faxed to the Burlington County Division of Parks by Sept. 11 at 4 p.m., as well as the grant application and guidelines, are available on the county website at www.co.burlington.nj.us/parks.

For additional information, call (609) 265–5858.
