Mt. Laurel introduces three new members to the police department

The Mt. Laurel Police Department is pleased to announce the hiring of three new police officers. The officers were hired in response to two retirements and a resignation.

Officer Erica Aybar-Morillo was hired on July 8. Aybar-Morillo is a veteran of the United States Air National Guard and served in Iraq. She transferred to the Mt. Laurel Police Department from the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Department, where she served as a sheriff’s officer. Aybar-Morillo graduated from the Atlantic County Police Academy in 2012 and is currently assigned to the patrol bureau.

Officer Patrick Taylor was hired on July 22. He transferred to the Mt. Laurel Police Department from the College of New Jersey Police Department, where he served for five years. Taylor holds a B.A. degree from East Stroudsburg University. He graduated from the Monmouth County Police Academy in 2008 and is currently assigned to the patrol bureau.

Kevin Pluta starts employment with the Mt. Laurel Police Department on August 1. He previously worked for the NJ Department of Corrections and the Gloucester County Department of Corrections. Pluta is a member of the United States Air Force Reserve and served in Iraq. He has a B.A. in finance from Rutgers University. Pluta starts the Gloucester County Police Academy on August 5. Upon graduation in December he will be assigned to the patrol bureau.
